the GHOSTFACE  a.k.a. "PRETTY TONEY" Interview

 GAO-What's going on man?

GF- I'm chillin and shit, what's going on baby?

GAO- It's good to see you brother.

GF-  I'm glad to be here. Putting in work on this album, the

"Pretty Toney" album. It's off the meat rack, you know what I mean. Just putting in heavy

work.

GAO- "Run", "Tush, Tush, Tush".

GF-  Those are my videos I shot a little while ago. "Tush" with Missy Ellioitt,

"Run" with Jadakiss. "Run" is a street joint. TUSH is one of the first singles. It's going

good, I can't complain.

GAO- Let's talk about "Run". The concept of that video. You, Jadakiss and Comp. It's a

high energy video, moving fast. What's up with that?

GF-You know how it is man. Especially in the hoods. It's like you gotta

stay running from the police. You know these police, they've got a tendency to just

fuck with nigga's, whenever they want to. That's why I said, "If you're

selling drugs in the school zone,  Run. If you're getting chased with no

shoes on, Run. Fuck that, cops got guns. They're giving out life like by the

tons. RUN, if you ain't do shit, you it. Because that next felony is like 3-zip. So run,

hop fences, jump over benches". Do all types of shit.

GAO- How's everything going with you and the WU-TANG CLAN?

GF- Everything is good. We're supposed to do a  two week tour  in July.

That's overseas. In 2005, we're gonna do a WU album.  I also just got the call

today, to do another  CUBAN LINKS album. But we gotta sit

down and go over the motions with that. The Clan is good. Everybody is going through,

what they're going through. Hopefully, everything will be patched up, so next year we

can do this WU album.

GAO-Okay, everybody saw the VH-1 special about Ol Dirty Bastard. He's now with Roc-A-Fella.

Are things cool with you all? I've recently seen him in the RZA's videos and  with you

(WU-TANG), more than with his label mates. Is everything patched up?

GF- It was never a problem. That's what the people were getting. He's my family.

There was no problem. I heard him say "When he was locked up, I didn't

visit him". But,  that's how shit goes sometimes. I was running around doing

what I was doing. I wasn't in New York, and shit like that. But at the same time, when

I was locked up, I didn't beef when I came home. After I did my six months, nobody

came to check me. So,  people think we're not man's no more.

He's my heart. I'll do whatever I got to for Dirt. But, as a man, he had to do his time. I

had to do what I had to do. I've got babies out here.

There was NEVER a problem.  I don't want the people to get that shit twisted.

I'll go all out for Dirty. Other than that, everything is good.

GAO- What about the Def Jam Vendetta 2 game?

GF- Yeah, my graphics are up, fuck with my man. He has good moves.

During this part of the interview we are joined by Trife from the Theodore Unit.

GAO- Who's this brother?  I recognize him from the "Run" video.

GF- Yeah that's Trife from the T.U., Theodore Unit. He's also in TUSH

They've been out here on all the radio stations, blowing shit up. They're the next big thing.

Trife: Yeah, I'm on that K-Slay mix cd, all that shit.

GF: He's also on Biscuits, on the new album and that Mark Ronson song.

The Cappadonna Interview

While waiting for Ghostface, we hooked up with Cappadonna.

He was  hesitant to do an interview. However, once

this man opened up, it was on. During the interview, we were

asked by hotel management to leave the building. But

Cappadonna took charge and told them "No!, we ain't done yet!"

They shut up and backed off. He then dropped knowledge.

After the interview was over, we were outside of this Hollywood

hotel.  To my surprise, we got honked at by fans of Cappadonna.

A car full of Latino brothers yelled "Yo Cappadonna!"

Some cute Asian chicks also pulled over to call him out. Yup, this

Wu artists still gets alot of love in LA.

                                                                   Jason M. Thomas - producer

GAO- What's up? What are you doing in LA?

CAP- Taking it easy, out here with Toney Starks, working on that Pretty Toney album.

That shit is bonkers. We hit a couple of spots already like Chicago. We just started.

We'll be doing that for a while. I'll also be doing that "Struggle" album. I dropped it in

October. I shot a video for it called "Cap is Back".

GAO-Cap is back?

CAP- Yeah, its featuring Lounge Mode, he's my brother. We're trying to do big things

this year. It's an independent project on Code Red. It's like fuck that, I'm about to

take it to the next level. I'm gonna also drop the "Love is Love" album. If I can't do

that, I'll do another one. It's time to get focused and change the message in the music.

It's time to come up with something positive. Niggas  have been "gangbangin" and hustling for

years now. It's time to put positive messages in the music and enlighten the poor people.

Wake up the babies.

GAO- It's about that time, right?

CAP- Yeah we need a little bit more love in the music. I'm tired of "WARRING". There's

war all over the place and shit. After the war, that's supposed to create change.

So now it's time. Niggas gotta come together and keep the bitterness out of the game.

GAO- Keep the bitterness out of the game?

CAP- Yeah, keep the bitterness out of the game and let us come together for one common

cause.  The WU-Tang is trying to get back together. That shit might happen in a couple of

years. Right now, we're taking baby steps. So I'm chillin with Ghost right now. He dropped

the album. It's got some hot joints, even though it ain't featuring me. That shit's kinda

wack, if you ask me. But he's showing love.

CUT- Hotel Management just interrupted and asked us to end the interview for insurance purposes.

The attention of the cameras caused them to approach us.

GAO- We're back. Alot is going down. We were almost uh,

CAP- We almost got kicked out. You know how it is. We're always getting evicted,

thrown out in the street, beaten, whipped, water hosed and dogged out.

GAO- You knew how to handle them.

CAP- Yeah man, you gotta put fear in their hearts. Check it out, they gotta stop

that bullshit. Let us do what we gotta do. We ain't bothering nobody. If we go

out front, we're still on their property. That's what my album "The Struggle" is all

about. It's about all the bullshit we go through. The Struggle wasn't for the

public. It was for the streets. The grits. Niggas that feel like for whatever reason,

they gotta sell crack, dope and weed to survive.

GAO- That's not the way its supposed to be.

CAP- I don't know which way its supposed to be. The game started like that from

day one. America was built on corruption. They took the land from the Indians.

Everybody's taking, but now its time to make a change. That's why I'm coming up.

I did the independent thing. I'll drive a cab. I ain't got no pride, jealousy, envy,

hatred none of that shit for nobody.

GAO- So, you just said drive a cab. Let's talk about that. MTV did a story on you,

saying you had beef with the RZA. Is that squashed?

CAP- I didn't really have beef with the RZA. "Beef is when I see you, guaranteed

to be in ICU." It ain't poppin like that. We had a verbal confrontation, a misunderstanding,

and a disagreement. I just felt, I was due more. But fuck it, you have to go through

mad legal work or niggas could gangbang. I'm just grateful, I was part of something

productive. It was a chance to advance. Whatever happened is over. Let's just

forget that and keep moving to bigger and better things. I got other shit that I'm

dealing with, but a bitch ain't one.

GAO- Well, thanks for talking to us. It's always good to talk to any member of the WU.

CAP- It's all love, its all about adding to life. Raising the kids and our families.  We

gotta teach kids the right way, because they are coming up stagnated. They need

direction, so I'm gonna spread knowledge and ease off the bullshit.

GAO-So they'll know about the struggle.

CAP- Yeah, they'll have to know. That's what's up. I'm gonna work out, if anybody

approaches me I'm knocking them out.

Also, everybody needs to read. READ, READ, READ, the Bible, the Koran, mathematics

student enrollment. Read all of that because it will enlighten your mind and make your

body feel better. Drink a lot of water too, eat right, try not to eat pork and red meat.

GAO- Stay Healthy.

CAP- Yeah, stay healthy and think healthy.

GAO- And GO ALL OUT.
